Four Short Stories Under Economic Recovery

Starting in March, the exhibition economy, which has been silent for many years, began to recover. Exhibition centers in major popular cities are extremely lively. Recently, I have intensively visited several exhibitions in the core cities of the Yangtze River Delta, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou, covering themes of electronics, consumption, industry, chemicals, and agriculture. Generally speaking, the exhibitions are extremely lively, and domestic and foreign industry practitioners are flocking in. Especially at the Munich Shanghai Electronic Equipment Exhibition, which occupied 6 exhibition halls, in order to accommodate more exhibitors, the curators compressed the aisle space between booths to less than three feet, and people walked shoulder to shoulder.

As the saying goes, illness comes like a landslide, and goes like spinning silk. The economy that came to an abrupt halt due to the pandemic cannot recover quickly, but we saw signs of economic recovery and people’s confidence in economic recovery from the exhibitions. What is particularly surprising is that from time to time you can see new technologies and new products brought by old and new companies. Some companies did not waste these three years of the pandemic, and their products and technologies have made great progress compared with three years ago. What is particularly interesting is that in previous exhibitions, we rarely saw company founders personally soliciting customers at the exhibition. This time, many exhibitor company founders went into battle personally to entertain new and old friends. This shows that although the past three years have been tough and business operations have been difficult, entrepreneurs have not been scared by difficulties, nor have they given up on themselves because of the pandemic, but have continued to progress in a difficult environment.

Highways and High-speed Rails

Although the May Day Golden Week has not yet arrived, high-speed rail tickets for some popular destinations have been sold out, and even tickets just released for more than ten days later will be gone in seconds. When driving on the highway, there is often congestion, service areas are overcrowded, and some parking spaces are insufficient, which is comparable to the peak of returning home during the Spring Festival. People’s willingness to travel is very strong, and seeing the Zibo barbecue that is like fire out of the circle on the Internet, tourism special forces, etc., although the data is not good-looking, the trend of economic recovery has not changed, and the economic indicators for the second quarter will definitely have a bright performance.

Entrepreneurs

Meetings and exchanges with entrepreneur friends have increased this year. In particular, I met some seniors in companies with relatively large scales. To sum up, they have many common characteristics:

Focus and professional: Successful entrepreneurs must have their own main business, which can continuously contribute cash flow to themselves. It may also be survivor bias. Those who have their own main business survived, and those who do not have a main business died. And they are absolute experts in their main business. With long-term accumulation and focus on the main business, the professional level of these entrepreneurs is already very high, and they are experts in technology, products, and markets.
Protect their business map, and their core business will not let outsiders enter. If they want to cooperate, it is in new business areas, not in existing businesses.
Long-term vision. If it is a promising industry, they do not care too much about gains and losses. If it is an unpromising industry, they will not participate at all and will not waste time.
Do not pay attention to ostentation, do not pay attention to food and clothing, and personal life is extremely simple. Usually, they go between the company and home, and spend a lot of time on their main business. They have personal hobbies, and no bad habits. Apart from drinking a little wine or tasting food, they have no other bad habits. Some people don’t even pay attention to food and clothing, as long as they can solve the problem of food and clothing.
Personality traits vary widely. Some love to brag, some are simple and unpretentious, but when it comes to specific things, they will be meticulous, and their execution ability is particularly strong. Scheduled things will be pushed forward quickly until the expected node agreed by everyone.
Have very strong curiosity and learning ability. They will sign up for classes every year, read a lot of books, and acquire knowledge in exchanges with people from all walks of life.
Like to toss, constantly question the status quo, and constantly change, from office layout to company business direction, constantly moving forward in change.

Me

I feel that time passes very quickly this year. From the Spring Festival to now, I have basically had no rest on weekends and Sundays. Overtime at night is also common. I often entertain outside, uric acid remains high, and things still can’t be finished. Compared with excellent friends, I often feel a huge gap. In order to save time, I stopped exercising and stock trading, and focused on entrepreneurship.

Regarding whether to continue writing the blog, I hesitated for a while, but finally decided to continue writing. Writing a blog is the best way to keep thinking. Reading books and exchanging is just information input, and only writing can maintain systematic thinking.

Time must be arranged reasonably, no matter how busy you are, you cannot drag down your body, and you must insist on exercising,

Walk alone fast, walk together far, run more in the rivers and lakes, and worship the pier. Many problems that cannot be solved by thinking day and night, maybe others have solved them long ago, or others have better solutions. Ask others for advice more, and maybe the problem can be solved easily.
