Jingshan Chan Tea
Jingshan Tea, also known as Jingshan Maofeng, is produced in Jingshan Mountain, Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the traditional famous teas in Zhejiang and a treasure of Chinese tea.
Jingshan Mountain has a long history of tea production. In the Tang Dynasty, the Tea Saint Lu Yu wrote the famous classic “The Classic of Tea” while living in seclusion at the foot of Jingshan Mountain.
In the Song Dynasty, Jingshan Tea was already famous. The eminent Japanese monk Enni Ben’en came to Jingshan Temple to study and brought the Jingshan Temple’s Chan Tea Banquet back to Japan, which later developed into the Japanese tea ceremony. Therefore, Jingshan Temple is regarded as the origin of the Japanese tea ceremony.
Jingshan Tea is characterized by its green and tender appearance, green and bright tea soup, fragrant and lasting aroma, and refreshing and sweet taste. It is an excellent tea for health and self-cultivation.
